Salt Lake City, Utah – October 16, 2012 – DrivingSales today announced that six leading auto industry media organizations are official sponsors of the 2012 DrivingSales Executive Summit (DSES), the most authoritative profit-building event for innovative dealers, to be heldSunday, October 21st through Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012 at the Bellagio Las Vegas.

Media Sponsors for the 2012 DSES include:

- Auto Dealer Monthly (www.autodealermonthly.com)

- Automotive Digest (www.automotivedigest.com)

- Dealer Marketing Magazine (www.dealermarketing.com)

- Dealer Refresh (www.dealerrefresh.com)

- J.D. Power and Associates (www.jdpower.com)

- WardsAuto (www.wardsauto.com)

“We are pleased to have so many distinguished media groups supporting the summit this year,”said DrivingSales CEO and Founder Jared Hamilton. “We are all about making sure that the trends, information and best practices that are moving our industry forward reach dealers with lightning speed. And with a standing-room-only summit, this year’s media sponsors will be an important part of helping us communicate the incredible and profit-building DSES agenda content to dealers across the country.”

The DrivingSales Executive Summit brings together the most progressive dealers in the country, along with world-renowned speakers, all focused on pushing the auto industry’s ‘innovation boundaries’ and translating the latest trends and business realities into solid 2013 action plans for every dealership department. The summit is 100 percent dealer-driven and has a vendor-neutral policy, meaning no vendor influence on presentation selection and adherence to a strict dealer-to-vendor ratio and is the only automotive conference where dealers decide the agenda, not the vendor sponsors. This translates into the highest level of learning for the dealer attendees versus other events where workshops are little more than glorified sales pitches.

The 2012 DSES offers and exciting agenda and includes high-profile keynotes from BillyBeane of ‘Moneyball’ fame; SEO ‘superstar’ Rand Fishkin; mobile experience expert LukeWroblewski; renowned leadership trainer Jim Dance; prominent Northwestern University marketing professor Florian Zettelmeyer; Social and Authentic Marketing expert Scott Stratten; Head of Marketing for MINI USA Tom Salkowsky; an exclusive presentation from Facebookand Google, and a one-on-one onstage interview between Jared Hamilton and TrueCar Chairman and CEO Scott Painter.

Additionally, presentations from some of the nation’s most successful dealerships make up a large portion of the summit agenda, with topics including best practices for running the BDC, winning strategies with Web Analytics, how to increase gross by certifying higher mileage vehicles, a case study on the FTC crackdown (how one dealership handled disaster), email, phone and mobile marketing presentations, and more.

After completely selling out a few weeks ago, the DrivingSales Executive Summit has negotiated with the Bellagio for more seats for dealers. There are only a handful of dealer spots left.
“We are excited that Scott is joining us for the summit, his efforts have truly aimed to push the boundaries of our industry. All Scott’s auto-related businesses in some way have melded technology, data and car-selling – a theme that we are zeroing in on at this year’s summit,” said Hamilton. “We look forward to a provocative, stimulating and illuminating session with Scott, one that will be of great interest not only to our dealer attendees and community, but also to the industry at large.”

Painter’s career as an entrepreneur spans three decades. He is the founder of start-ups including SharesPost, PriceLock, CarsDirect.com, Zag.com and Brighthouse, and most recently founded TrueCar, which seeks to level the playing field of car-buying for customers and dealers alike by marrying shopping at a dealer showroom floor with online research and purchasing. Painter has received numerous awards and recognition for his business enterprises, including being named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2010 and 2011. His outspoken and forward-looking views on the automotive industry have been sought by media outlets including CNN.com, FOX News, National Public Radio, Bloomberg, TechCrunch, The Economic Times and BusinessWeek. Painter attended West Point Academy for two years, where he studied political science, then transferred to UC Berkeley where he studied economics before leaving to lead his first start-up, INFOAccess, a car buying information website.

“I am thrilled to be appearing for the first time at the DrivingSales Executive Summit, one of the most important events our industry has to offer dealers,” said Painter. “And I am delighted to have the opportunity to have this conversation with Jared and the DSES attendees – who are some of the most progressive dealers in our industry – as well as with the dealer community as a whole.”

Renowned Northwestern University marketing professor, Florian Zettelmeyer, addresses DrivingSales Executive Summit on how ‘Big Data’ is changing the future of marketing – and what that means for today’s dealerships.

DrivingSales today announced that Florian Zettelmeyer, Northwestern University Professor of Marketing and author of a groundbreaking study on the impact of the Internet on automotive retailing, has joined the keynote line-up at the fourth annual DrivingSales Executive Summit (DSES), which is the industry’s most authoritative profit-building event for innovative dealers. Zettelmeyer’s keynote titled “Is Marketing Dead? How Big Data is Changing the Future of Marketing” examines the way that ‘Big Data’ is driving (or should be) a sea change in marketing practices extending across all organizational functions — and the positive impact this can, and should, have on automotive retailing.

A leading expert on marketing and the impact of the symbiosis of data and technology on business, Florian Zettelmeyer is the J. L. and Helen Kellogg Professor of Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and was named the 2011 L.G. Lavengood Outstanding Professor of the Year. Prior to his appointment at Kellogg he was an Associate Professor of Marketing and chair of the marketing group at the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley.

“It is no secret to anyone in our industry that ‘Big Data’ is changing everything because now we know almost everything about our customers, from what they are searching for on the web – and when, and where they are when they search – to their mobile search behavior, to their ‘likes’ and much, much more,” said DrivingSales CEO and Founder, Jared Hamilton. “All this data can be a blessing or a curse…drowning an organization if not appropriately used or sinking a retailer if ignored. Professor Zettelmeyer will illustrate how ‘Big Data’ is turning marketing into the leader, not the follower, in organizations, and how it can and should be used, and made actionable, across departments as a genuine ROI imperative versus a spreadsheet for overpaid analysts.”

Professor Zettelmeyer specializes in evaluating the effects of information technology and big data on firms. More generally, his work addresses how the information consumers have about firms and the information firms have about consumers affect firm behavior. The author of a ground-breaking study on how the Internet impacts car buying, Professor Zettelmeyer has extensively studied the auto retailing industry, investigating the effect of the Internet on auto sales, the pass-through of customer and dealer cash, the effectiveness of GM’s “Employee Discount for Everyone,” and how gasoline prices affect consumer choices. Professor Zettelmeyer teaches the MBA elective “Information- and Technology-based Marketing,” the main marketing analytics course at the Kellogg School of Management. He is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Professor Zettelmeyer received a Vordiplom in business engineering from the University of Karlsruhe (Germany), a M.Sc. in economics from the University of Warwick (UK) and a Ph.D. in marketing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Professor Zettelmeyer speaks on October 22nd at 9:00 am and joins other DSES high-profile keynotes including Billy Beane of ‘Moneyball’ fame, SEO ‘superstar’ Rand Fishkin, mobile experience expert Luke Wroblewski, renowned leadership trainer Jim Dance and an exclusive presentation from Facebook and Google.

The DrivingSales Executive Summit takes place Sunday, October 21st through Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012 at the Bellagio Las Vegas and brings together the most progressive dealers in the country, along with world-renowned speakers, all focused on pushing the auto industry’s ‘innovation boundaries’ and translating the latest trends and business realities into solid 2013 action plans for every dealership department.
“What an impressive field of applications we received for our breakout sessions – they make us so proud of the extraordinary innovation and passion at work in our industry. With competition to speak at the summit so tight, our Dealer Advisory Board really had their work cut out for them; but, ultimately, they selected the hot-button topics that they felt resonated most with the issues today’s (and tomorrow’s) dealerships are facing,” said DrivingSales CEO and Founder, Jared Hamilton. “Unlike any other automotive industry event, our speakers and topics are selected by those who know best what dealers need to hear: their peers. We are confident that these presentations will be an important part of the profit-building takeaways for summit attendees as they craft their 2013 business plans.”

Presentations from some of the nation’s most successful dealerships make up a large portion of the summit agenda, with topics including best practices for running the BDC, winning strategies with Web Analytics, how to increase gross by certifying higher mileage vehicles, a case study on the FTC crackdown (how one dealership handled disaster), email, phone and mobile marketing presentations, and more.
The DrivingSales Executive Summit is the most authoritative profit-building event for innovative dealers, and will be held Sunday, October 21st through Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012 at the Bellagio Las Vegas. Early-bird Registration is open now through August 15th.

The DrivingSales Executive Summit is 100% dealer driven and designed specifically for the most advanced dealer principals and dealership executives in the industry. The summit has a vendor-neutral policy, meaning no vendor influence on presentation selection and adherence to a strict dealer-to-vendor ratio. The DrivingSales Executive Summit is the only automotive conference where dealers decide the agenda, not the vendor sponsors. This translates into the highest level of learning for the dealer attendees versus other events where workshops are little more than glorified sales pitches.

Last year’s summit was standing room only, and although DSES 2012 will allow for an expanded number of registrants, it is expected to sell out quickly. Register for the DrivingSales Executive Summit.

Award recognizes the most innovative dealership solutions of 2012; competition and presentation at 2012 DrivingSales Executive Summit

Salt Lake City, Utah – July 11, 2012 – DrivingSales today announced the call for entries for the third annual DrivingSales Innovation Cup Award, which recognizes the most innovative dealership solutions of 2012. Any dealership solution provider can apply, but only six finalists will be chosen to present their solutions to DrivingSales Executive Summit (DSES) attendees, and a panel of dealer judges, who then determine the winner for “Most Innovative Solution of the Year.” Applications will be accepted from July 15th through August 31st.

The Innovation Cup Award will be presented at the 2012 DrivingSales Executive Summit, the most authoritative profit-building event for innovative dealers, which will be held Sunday, October 21st through Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012 at the Bellagio Las Vegas.

“The Innovation Cup Award has become one of the most coveted and highly regarded honors among dealer solution providers, because the winner and finalists are determined exclusively by dealers – the people who understand best how these products can positively impact them,” said DrivingSales CEO and Founder Jared Hamilton. “The DSES is all about providing the most innovative, leading-edge profit-building information to dealer attendees and, by allowing these ‘best-of-the-best’ dealership solutions to compete head-to-head on stage at the summit, dealer attendees have a unique look at the products that will help drive innovation in our industry in the year ahead.”

Last year’s Innovation Cup Award was presented to Dominion Dealer Solutions for the CarBinder product. AdVantageTec AV11, Cars.com Dealer Reviews, cDemo Mobile Solutions Mobile Inspector (Mi), DealerTrend Car Dealer Press, and MotorLot eSignature were named as finalists.

The Innovation Cup Awards are part of an exciting DSES line up this year, which includes high-profile keynotes from Billy Beaneof ‘Moneyball’ fame, SEO ‘superstar’ Rand Fishkin, mobile experience expert Luke Wroblewski, and an exclusive presentation from Facebook and Google. Early Bird registration for the DSES is now available through August 15th for the 2012 DrivingSales Executive Summit Automotive Conference.

The DrivingSales Executive Summit is the most authoritative profit-building event for innovative dealers. DSES brings together the most progressive dealers in the country, along with world-renowned speakers, all focused on pushing the auto industry’s ‘innovation boundaries’ and translating the latest trends and business realities into solid 2013 action plans for every dealership department.

New this year, the DSES offers opportunities for dealers/dealer groups to hold collaborative meetings before or after the conference to bookend the summit and allow for goal-setting, debriefing, and planning. Please visit http://drivingsalesexecutivesummit.com/private-meeting-registration/ or email dses@drivingsales.com for more information.
